Essential: the registration certificates (Zulassungsbescheinigung)
Part I (formerly Fahrzeugschein) is normally kept in the car. Part II (formerly Fahrzeugbrief) shows who is registered as the keeper and goes with the vehicle when it is sold. If Part II is held by a bank, for example because the vehicle is still financed, please talk to us beforehand.
Keys and accessories
Hand over all existing keys. A missing spare key can reduce the value. Also think of accessories such as winter wheels, charging cables for electric and hybrid vehicles or roof racks, and tell us what should be included in the sale.
Records that increase the value
A complete service book, invoices for major work and a current general inspection (HU) report build trust and can have a positive effect on the price. You should declare accident damage openly; that makes the valuation fair and reliable.
Deregistration: we take care of it
If you sell your vehicle to us, we handle the formalities and deregister the vehicle. You do not have to go to the registration office yourself. Deregistration also ends the vehicle tax and insurance for the vehicle; nevertheless, inform your insurer of the sale.
Before handover
- Remove personal belongings from the glovebox, boot and door pockets.
- Delete paired smartphones and saved addresses in the satnav.
